We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Hawthorn Beach yesterday for ‘Summer at the Shore’ with the lovely artists from The Barn at Easington.

We joined Mallory and her mum, and Professor McGoogle, and for a moment, became the Coastal Time Detective Team.

The sun shone as we hunted for sea glass and used our buckets to dig for coal. We discovered that millions of years ago the beach used to be a forest as well as a hot sea!

We also marvelled at sea creatures and their shells and then went to help Nicola and Jyl create a giant Octopus made from stones.

We’ve ordered more sunshine for this coming Sunday 18th July when ‘Summer at the Shore’ will be at Blackhall Rocks for the day from 11.30am – 2pm.

Tickets for the beach performances can be booked via the link or just turn up and get involved with the beach art session – both events are free to attend https://bit.ly/3kgsWo2 .
