As part of the SeaScapes’ Coastal Partnership Event join us for join us for Sports Games.
The National Trust will be leading 1-hour of Sports Games session in Foghorn Field. For all abilities and for all ages.
SeaScapes is presenting a 2-day celebration of the coast Tyne to Tees. The aim of this event is to bring communities together to learn and access their coastline at South Shields and Whitburn. This is an all-age event with a range of activities including nest trail, games, crafts, sports, nature walks and interactive presentation promoting stall holders’ project. This is a partnership event including SeaScapes internal partners National Trust, Durham Wildlife Trust and Newcastle University; and external partners Stronger Shores, COAST South Shields and COAST Sunderland.
All set on the backdrop of Souter Lighthouse and The Leas. This is a free event. Please feel free to participate in as much or little as you would like. This activity will be taking place outdoors. Please ensure that you have warm & dry clothing and suitable footwear.

- 10:00 Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre Opens – find inside stall holders, games, crafts and wave tank
- 10:00 – 12:00 Family Wildlife Walk and Talk (please at Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre)
- 10:30 – 11:30 Litter pick on The Leas (please at Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre)
- 11:00 – 11:45 Food Chain Tag (please meet in Foghorn Field)
- 12:00 – 13:00 Sports games (please meet in Foghorn Field)
- 13:10 – 13:55 Food Chain Tag (please meet in Foghorn Field)
- 13:00 – 15:00 Social Seawatch (please meet in Seaview Garden)
- 13:30 – 15:00 Bird Walk (please at Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre)
- 16:00 Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre closes
Souter Lighthouse is open but not part of this event and charges will apply to enter the Lighthouse. Café and toilets are available. Parking charges apply.
