Whitburn Resonance-The Stories

Did you hear more birdsong on your lockdown walks around Whitburn?
Was the church bell really dredged up from a SpanishArmada ship, wrecked off the Whitburn coastline?
Do you have memories of the sound of donkey rides on the beach?

Come to hear about an innovative community research project where residents of Whitburn and people with a strong connection to the area have been mapping historical, archaeological and acoustic sounds and stories about Whitburn’s connection to the coastline past, present and future.

Displays and presentations from Whitburn Resonance; SeaScapes; Whitburn Graveyard Survey & archaeological project; Whitburn Heritage Society; Tees Archaeology: Roker Battery Geophysics & Field Name Survey.

Dr. Jake Morris -Campbell, local poet and researcher, will read from his latest collection Corrigenda for Costafine Town
