Join us as we take part in the Big Butterfly Count along the East Durham Coast.
It’s the national Big Butterfly Count from 15th July – 7th August and we’re taking part in collaboration with the National Trust Rangers based at White Lea Farm, Easington. The Big Butterfly Count is a national initiative run by Butterfly Conservation that is counting the amount and type of butterflies that we see.
Taking part in the Big Butterfly Count helps track numbers of butterflies and is crucial in helping to conserve our natural world. No previous experience is required, so if you love nature and want to help spot and count our local butterflies please come along.
This event is free to attend. Booking is essential.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor activities. equipment will be provided.
This event is part of the ‘Our Coast, Our Wildlife’ project being run by The National Trust and is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund
