This half term we’re wrapping up warm and going for a bird walk at Seal Sands, Teesmouth.
Bring your junior birders for a guided bird walk at Seal Sands, part of the Teesmouth National Nature Reserve!
Winter shorebird migration is an annual spectacle, and a reminder of how important our coast is for shorebird conservation. We are ready to help you learn all about it — and enjoy it in the process.
What might you see if you join us for a walk? If you’re lucky you may see sanderlings, purple sandpipers, golden plovers, ringed plovers, turnstones, knots, dunlins, curlew, oystercatchers, redshank, snow buntings and more. Those are the usual suspects, though you never know when a rarity might show up!
For this two mile walk we will be outdoors, so please wear warm and weather appropriate clothing and outdoor suitable footwear. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
If you have binoculars please bring them, we will have some available to borrow too.
Booking essential.
This event is being delivered in partnership with Natural England, who manage Teesmouth National Nature Reserve.
