Winter shorebird migration is an annual spectacle, and a reminder of how important our coast is for shorebird conservation. We are ready to help you learn all about it — and enjoy it in the process. At the same time we will be noting down what we see.

What might you see if you join us for a walk? If you are lucky, you may see sanderlings, ringed plovers, turnstones, knots, dunlins, curlew, oystercatchers, redshank, snow buntings and more. Those are the usual suspects, though you never know when a rarity might show up!

We have scheduled 8 shorebird walks during the winter and early spring months, at a variety of locations along the Tyne to Tees coast. Each walk designed for birders of all levels! So, join us as often as you wish, the schedule is:

• Tuesday 2^nd April – Noses Point

These are outdoor events, so please wear warm and weather appropriate clothing and outdoor suitable footwear. If you have binoculars please bring them, we will have some available to borrow too.

This event is being delivered in partnership with Durham Bird Club and Durham County Council, and is a SeaScapes Coastal Wildlife Group event, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
