Coastal Bird Walk – Blackhall Rocks

Winter shorebird migration is an annual spectacle, and a reminder of how important our coast is for shorebird conservation. We are ready to help you learn all about it — and enjoy it in the process.

What might you see if you join us for a walk? If you’re lucky you may see sanderlings, purple sandpipers, golden plovers, ringed plovers, turnstones, knots, dunlins, curlew, oystercatchers, redshank, snow buntings and more. Those are the usual suspects, though you never know when a rarity might show up!

Booking essential.

This event is being delivered in partnership with Durham Bird Club and Durham County Council, and is a SeaScapes Coastal Wildlife Group event, hosted by Durham Wildlife Trust and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
