Remixing environmental data into sound with artist Shelly Knotts

Join sound artist Shelly Knotts for an interactive workshop remixing data into sounds with computer code. This workshop will create a friendly and inclusive space in which we can explore ways in which different kinds of environmental data can be used to make new creative sound collages.  

Shelly will introduce easy-to-use software that can be used to imagine data as sound, and will support you to experiment with playful ways of working with data to create your own sound collage. At the end of the session Shelly will bring the different sound collages together in a live coding performance, creating a new sonic landscape in the gallery.

No computer coding experience is necessary. The workshop will be suitable for ages 8+ but children will need to be accompanied by an adult.  We will provide computers and headphones, but if you would like to bring your own computer and headphones that is ok, and it will help more people take part.
