Coastal SoundLab Hartlepool: 20 – 24 August 2024

Coastal SoundLab Hartlepool invites people to explore the soundscapes of our coastal environments through the sites of First World War sound mirrors in the North East today.

Each day the gallery will be open to the public to come in to interact with the sound mirror digital artwork, and participate in the drop-in activities which will focus on listening to the changing coastal environment in Hartlepool.  To accompany these activities will be a programme of bookable walks and workshop activities that will also take place in the gallery and outside in the square and marina area.

Coastal SoundLab has been commissioned by curator Suzy O’Hara, Research lead for CoLab Sunderland University and Cultural Producer for the Seascapes Marine Landscape Partnership with support from the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
